 Wooden Display Pedestals

Aarush Thummati, Troop 153, Fremont
For my Eagle Scout project, I planned and led the construction of six custom wooden pedestals for the Children's Natural History Museum to safely display historical artifacts like skulls and pottery. My team and I built two large, two medium, and two small hollow pedestals using birch plywood, ensuring they were sturdy yet lightweight. We carefully measured, assembled, sanded, and painted the structures. Ultimately, this project provided the museum with an organized, professional, and secure way to elevate and showcase their valuable items to visitors.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all the volunteers from Troop 153, along with my friends and family members, who dedicated their time to helping me build and finish these pedestals. A special thank you goes out to my project coach Surender Goli for their invaluable guidance, tool supervision, and support. I am also incredibly thankful to Dr. Blueford for giving me the opportunity to complete this service project for the museum. Finally, I truly appreciate everyone who donated funds, loaned tools, or provided materials to make this effort a complete success.
