MEASUREMENT
Lesson 2 - Page 8

Next

It is like learning a new language; you need to associate the object with the world.  Just translating from one word to another adds another level of “fuzziness” in associating the word with a real object.  For those who want to know the conversions at least think about where the numbers came from?

TEMPERATURE

To convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit: multiply by 1.8  (180 degrees from 212) and add 32 (freezing point), and for Kelvin you are just adding 273 (absolute freezing of molecules)

° F = 1.8° C + 32
° K = ° C + 273.

LINEAR

1 inch = 2.54  cm
1 foot = 0.3048 m
1 mile = 1.6093 km

VOLUME

1 ounce =  29.574 ml
1 gallon = 3.7851 liters
