Two planters in Butterfly Meadow

What I Did: My Eagle Project consisted of clearing an area of overgrowth and building two planter boxes in the Butterfly Meadow region of Tule Ponds. Since this area is meant for visitors, I helped make this area more accessible and aesthetically pleasing, as well as supporting the natural environment and ecosystem with the planter boxes. Once the area of overgrowth was identified, my team used rakes, cutters, and other tools to clear the overgrowth, weeds, and any old stumps. Once the area had been cleared down to the fresh soil, we assembled two planter boxes before placing them in their designated areas and marking where the 4 posts would go. Then, we dug holes in those marked areas and set the planter boxes down in their final position. We added cement and locked the planter boxes in place. Finally, we cleaned them up, made them look nice by filling the holes/gaps with soil, and filled them up with soil from a nearby soil mound.

Who Helped: This project would not have been possible without the help I received in both the planning and execution phases. I would like to thank Mr. Prasad Bodas, Shaunak Bodas, Viraj Pasupeleti, and Mr. Mahesh Pasupuleti for all their help during the project, as well as everybody who donated for this project. Additionally, I would also like to thank Dr. Blueford for providing me with this incredible opportunity.
