2008
Erosion is still a problem on
Duck Island, but more of the trees that were planted in 2007 are
starting to root and grow. The clayey soil is very depleted of
nutrients with little leaf litter helping to add needed nitrates and
phosphates to the soil. Stunted growth of some of the trees planted
in 2006 is noticed.
