TELESCOPES - LAB
Telescopes help people to see far
objects closer or in more detail. Binoculars magnify distant
objects and consist of two similar telescope, one for each eye to make
viewing easy. They contain two prisms which make the image right side
up. You will understand why you need to do this when you complete the
lab. You will also be asked to determine if the image is just larger (magnification)
or if the lenses create a better, more detailed picture (resolution).
When you look through the lenses make sure that the image is in
focus. You may have to move the lense back and forth to find the place
of best focus. On the pictures below, which one is out of
