Open House at Tule Ponds at
Tyson Lagoon was exciting as birds and insects did their
magic on the newly flowering plants. Although it
rained in the morning the afternoon turned out to be a
special day for the over 300 people that showed up to learn
about how pollination works and how you can design a
pollinator garden. Participants explored in depth the various insects and their
life cycles found in wetlands. They also discovered
the nectar plants that entice pollinators to find food.
See what different life cycles can be found, and go on an
insect scavenger hunt. Drs. Karen Anderson and Joyce
Blueford lead 5 tours throughout the day to have a special
close up look at the pollinators as children looked for
pollinators and pollinator plants.
