HELP US BUILD A REPLICA OF AN OHLONE
TULE HUT

Our Tule Hut needs a new layer of Tule.  Join us to cut tules, weave them, and them put it up on our existing hut.  Look below for the various steps you will learn.  Robert Gustas will lead the making of the tule mats, and will be available to answer questions on the Native Americans on the West Coast.  We are looking for volunteers that are 13 and older to help us make a hut that thousands of children in Alameda County will see when we conduct field trips of Tule Ponds at Tyson Lagoon. Pictures below are from our first tule house.
