HUMAN SKELETONS AND OTHER BONES
California Science Standards and Next Generation Science Standards

Human Skeleton and other Bones (3-5)  Students will learn about the major bones in their body by exploring several hands on lessons with bones.  They will compare and contrast their own body to specimens. Limit: 2 classes,  64 students

The following are activities students will do
1. Assemble the human skeleton and identify the bones
2. Identify the different bones and what animal they belong to
3.  Read Skeletal Hip Hop
4.  Read “Owl Pellet Party”
5. Use forceps to sort and identify bones from owl pellets
6. Tour the museum to look for recent and fossil skeletons
